Summary:
Vesper Rivers is bound to routine & obligations. Nursing school, work, playing a motherly role caring for her younger brother Johnny who has cerebral palsy.
So many responsibilities whilst trying to find time for herself & her boyfriend Carter. A kind, handsome, loyal medical student. Her first serious boyfriend of 3 years who totally dotes on her. He's everything she should want, but she finds herself wanting, needing more. Something not so vanilla, something not so safe.
Then the day comes, Vesper feels as though she's being watched. She meets the eyes of the clearest turquoise eyes she has ever seen. Eyes she has seen before, Eyes she had found herself fantasising about at the most forbidden times.
She liked the dirty thoughts, the more forbidden the more aroused she became. But fantasies are just that right? Many peoples fantasies staying buried within never to become reality.

This book, gave me all the feels. Happiness, Sadness, Confusion, Frustration & so much more. It will have you frowning, smiling, laughing & close to tears.
I couldn't tear myself away from this book. Turning page after page. Wanting, needing to know more.
As Sam's story unfolds you learn more about his childhood delving deeper into his past giving you a greater understanding of the pivotal points that moulded him into the person he became.
That with darkness, for him, came clarity.
A torchered soul. Desperately seeking acceptance & normality. Something which he saw within Vesper. The more I learned about Sam the more I fell in love with his character.
Vesper believed she must be good, kind, pure & take care of others because who would love her if not? But for once rather than taking care of everyone else. Sam takes care of her. I loved that he accepts of every part of her, even the deepest, darkest, dirty parts. She becomes his obsession, his everything. Which ultimately leads to him becoming hers.
Some might say that this book is a classic story of 'Stockholm syndrome'. But I thought it more to be a story of twisted fate. Two pieces of two puzzled worlds that fit perfectly together.
One thing I loved about Sam & Vespers story was the way the Author could go from a dark, cold, serious & sometimes brutal scene. To a scene that was light & heartwarming, a scene that would have me laughing & smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
For me, that balance between light & dark is what makes an amazing story in this Genre. I loved every single moment & found myself wishing that the story didn't have to come to an end.
